About Diane

Diane Bamber

I first started Iyengar yoga over 15 years ago when I was working hard and doing lots of physical training as a Sports Science student. I felt I needed to explore new ways of working with my body and hoped yoga would also help me cope with life’s stresses, but I had no idea it could benefit me in so many other ways.

I’ve since gone on to obtain a doctorate in Sports and Exercise Sciences while also training as a sports psychologist, then spent several years working as a research scientist in developmental psychiatry. Throughout this time I have marvelled at the power of yoga and its ability to increase my well-being - like many people with busy lives I can overwork and overlook my health. Yoga has been invaluable during difficult times, giving me the resilience and patience to cope with several personal health challenges, including pregnancy!

Diane Bamber's Iyengar Yoga certificate

After qualifying as an Iyengar yoga teacher in 2008 I decided to move on from academia to focus on my teaching. I love passing on my enthusiasm for yoga and sharing the ways in which it can help everyone to achieve their optimum state of well-being.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or a more experienced practitioner, I look forward to exploring the many benefits of Iyengar yoga with you soon.

Very best wishes,
